Memorial Park
Memorial Park is Houston's most expansive central park, boasting extensive trails, vast green spaces and a robust forest. The Houstonian is directly adjacent to and borders Memorial Park, essentially being right next door, with direct access to parts of the park like the Memorial Park Golf Course. It's considered a wooded oasis with convenient access to the park's trails and activities, making it a seamless extension for guests. There are paths on the Houstonian property that will lead into Memorial Park's longer trails.
Uptown Park
About a mile away from the Houstonian lies Uptown Park, a European-style shopping center that allows shoppers to take in the sunshine as they stroll the walkways. Catering to life’s indulgences, Uptown Park is lined with shops, boutiques and cafes that create an intimate atmosphere. Here you will find world-class specialty shops, boutiques and dining with more than 50 unique places to rejuvenate, sip, savor and enjoy the surroundings.
Houston Arboretum & Nature Center
Located on the western edge of Memorial Park (4 miles from Downtown Houston), the Houston Arboretum & Nature Center offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of city life and the opportunity to experience the natural world. This 155-acre non-profit urban nature sanctuary provides education about the natural environment to Houstonians and visitors of all ages. It plays a vital role in protecting native plants and animals in the heart of the city where development threatens their survival. The Ground & Trails are open 7am - 6pm daily and the Nature Center is open 9am - 4pm daily. Admission is free.
Houston Museum District
A bit further away is the The Museum District which is Houston’s cultural heart. Home to Hermann Park, the Houston Zoo and 19 world-class museums, Houston’s Museum District is a cultural destination that welcomes millions of visitors every year. There is plenty to do, see and eat here to keep you busy for a full day. You may even need more time if you want to visit the neighborhood’s many museums and cultural exhibits.
