Taryn and I met at the University of Colorado during our sophomore year in 2014. Taryn wasn’t so sure about me at the start, but they say persistence pays off... While in Boulder, we enjoyed hiking the flatirons, meeting lifelong friends, and supporting our beloved CU Buffaloes. We played intramural basketball together, and studied in the library (Taryn was a more frequent visitor). Taryn graduated with a degree in Integrated Physiology; I graduated with a Finance and Marketing degree. After graduation, we both moved to Denver where I started my career in software sales and Taryn started nursing school. Taryn graduated from nursing school in 2019 and began working in the emergency room at University of Colorado Anschutz — the largest hospital in the state. She continues to work there today and is an amazing ER nurse. In 2020, we bought our first house together in the Highlands neighborhood of Denver. After 8 years of dating, I finally "popped the question” in a small village overlooking Lake Como. It was a special evening with a wood boat ride and a nice dinner. Taryn was very surprised. Following the Italy trip, Taryn took a 4 month travel nursing assignment in Seattle. We had an action packed summer in the PNW and got to spend time with Taryn’s family and my sister. We are excited to get back to Denver where we are blessed to be surrounded by a great community. Together, we enjoy getting outside and taking advantage of all that Colorado has to offer. Taryn loves to bake and has dessert covered at any social gathering. Sun Valley has always held a special place in our hearts. My family has had roots there since 1954. Taryn first visited in 2014. I may have ended her skiing career by taking her down too steep of a run, but she still fell in love with Ketchum. Taryn pivoted to snowboarding and now can tackle any run on Balde. Over the past eight years, Taryn and I have enjoyed several summer and winter trips to Ketchum with friends and family. We know it’s not the easiest time of year or place to get to, but hoping you all can come celebrate with us in January :) Love, Taryn and Jack
