Well.. actually.. (told by Tara's perspective) We both attended a fundraising event in 2017 with mutual friends participating in a dating show. While the girls and I sipped cocktails and looked around for eye candy, Ryan passed us a good 10 times without even acknowledging us. I tried to make eye contact the entire night but maybe I was a little short! Also, if you know Ryan, the dude is pretty self-centered and didn't actually notice anybody else in the room except himself ;) By the end of the night, I finally built up the courage (with the help of my friend Kyle) and approached him, blurting out with a sassy note, "Why didn't you introduce yourself all night?" He came up with I'm sure a snarky remark but I was too dazzled by his blue eyes to remember what he said after that. He asked me to dinner and we exchanged numbers but I responded with, "I'm moving to LA with the girls so I'm not really dating." He somehow managed to still get my number and after that following Tuesday, the rest was history. We dated long-distance while I settled in SF (and ditched the LA idea) but the traffic and workload had me wanting to move back to Sacramento. I made the impulsive decision to move back to Sacramento after leaving my job mid-year and Ryan received a wonderful opportunity to take on a new role with the AG office. We lived together in an apartment downtown while traveling the world for the next few summers. Ryan finally asked me for my hand in marriage while we fixed up our first house in North Oak Park. Since having a cat wasn't enough, I bought Ryan a plane ticket and asked him to pick up our newest addition, Ruby, our lovely Goldendoodle. Our life has been crazy the past few years but we wouldn't have it any other way. We look forward to starting a new chapter in July of 2022 and we look forward to having you all celebrate with us.
