We have included some of our favorite restaurants, places to see, local malls, and local bars/breweries in Charlotte. *indicates the places that are black owned

Fahrenheit

Fahrenheit has become a dining destination and the most Instagram-able patio in Charlotte, offering guests stunning spaces, delicious cuisine, and impeccable service. They boast spectacular unobstructed views of the Uptown Charlotte skyline. We love taking guests here to see the beautiful view of Charlotte!

Jinya Ramen Bar*

JINYA is known for its slow-cooked approach to ramen, made from broths simmered for 20 hours in-house. JINYA Ramen Bar presents a contemporary Japanese dining ideal for lively social gatherings for all ages. This is where we had our first date and the Spicy Creamy Vegan Ramen is our personal favorite!

Sea Level NC

Sea Level NC has fresh seafood sourced straight from the Carolina Coasts and is nestled in the downtown area of Charlotte. This is one of our favorite places to have drinks! Their shrimp po' boy is always a hit.

Mert's Heart And Soul*

Mert’s distinguishes itself from traditional soul food restaurants by offering Low Country and Gullah-inspired dishes such as shrimp and grits, Charleston red rice, and award-winning macaroni and cheese. This is one of our family's favorite places to go in Charlotte for some soul food and is black owned!

Optimist Hall

1115 North Brevard Street, Charlotte, NC 28206

Optimist Hall is a 147,000 square foot redevelopment of a former gingham mill featuring a food hall complemented by retail, restaurants, and the Duke Energy Innovation Center. The property boasts over 15 tenants for food, drinks, and entertainment. This is one of the best places to go to experience multiple well known dining places local only to Charlotte including sushi, ethiopian, tex-mex, and american cuisines. Our favorite places in Optimist Hall include "The Dumpling Lady," "Enat Ethiopian," and "Suarez Bakery."

Funny Bus - Charlotte Tour

This is one of the best bus tours of Charlotte which goes over the history and unique things to see in the downtown area. Please note that due to the nature of the comedy, the bus tour is adult only.

SouthPark Mall

SouthPark is the most exclusive shopping destination in the Carolinas. Home to over 175 specialty retailers, SouthPark offers a new level of luxury and entertainment. Shop stores like Neiman Marcus, Louis Vuitton, Crate & Barrel and American Girl. This is a great place to grab any last minute items and is not far from the downtown area.

Sycamore Brewing Company is complete with two levels of bars and seating. Now the largest Charlotte-born brewery, Sycamore offers a full taproom menu as well as their beloved brews. This is a great place to spend the afternoon with friends and have a few drinks.
