FAQs

This should be everything you need to know (and probably MORE) to get ready to have the best day ever. If you have any additional questions, feel free to reach out!
Question

What time should I be at the venue?

Answer

Doors will "open" at 4:00pm for you to start arriving to take your seat. The processional will start at 4:30pm.

Question

What is the schedule for the day?

Answer

4pm - Doors open. 430pm - Ceremony starts. 5pm - Cocktail hour & Charcuterie in the gardens. 6pm - Call to dinner. 6:10pm - Grand entrance, housekeeping. 6:30pm - Dinner and speeches to begin. 8:30pm - The Party Begins. 10:30pm - Late night snack and a special delivery! 12:30am - Last Call. 1am - Good night xoxo

Question

What is this about a shuttle bus?

Answer

We will be providing a shuttle bus that will take you FROM the venue back to the Courtyard Marriot when the party is over. The bus will be on a loop starting at 10pm and running until the end of the night. If you miss the bus, uber and taxi's are in abundance. This is important: there will be NO shuttle bus to bring you from the hotel TO the venue. Ok then - how do you get to the venue for the ceremony? If you are staying in the area, you can either grab an uber or a taxi (waterloo taxi service - 519-888-7777) OR you can drive and leave your car overnight (for free) onsite and make your way back for your car in the morning. If you take this route, I suggest pairing up with a friend (or your sneaky link, we ain't judgin') to leave one car at the hotel, one car at the venue.

Question

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

Answer

The venue has a shit ton of free overnight parking directly onsite!

Question

What is the bridal party colour?

Answer

Our bridal party will be wearing black.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

Semi-formal, garden party vibes (google for inspo!!). It is going to be a perfect mid-summer day and I would love to see you come in your best summer fits - just don't wear white please ;) It would make Keith & I super happy if our guests would avoid wearing black to give our wedding party the chance to stand out! For the girlies & the gays: avoid stilettos! If the weather checks out, the ceremony, cocktail hour & games will be hosted in the gardens (the insta pics are going to be insane) and I don't want you sinking into the earth and breaking necks - that is what the dance floor is for!

Question

ARE KIDS WELCOME?

Answer

While we love your kiddos (we do, trust us), we ask that you take the night off and leave them with a sitter. If you know anything about us, we are incapable at this stage in life of hosting a party where it would be the right, risk-free place to bring your kids (we are working on this, maybe Tara's 30th will be Peppa Pig themed, but our wedding will not be...) (You could argue that Star Wars is kid themed, but please, let's not go down that rabbit hole)

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

With space being limited, we ask that you only bring a plus-one if they have been addressed on your invitation.

Question

How can I request a song?

Answer

You have come to the right place! Music is going to be the bloodline of this wedding. From emo night classics to top 40, we want everyone to get down and dirty on the dancefloor. You can submit your song requests directly to our DJ here - the password is stjacobs http://nitroplanning.ca/requests.asp?djidnumber=17556

Question

Are there activities during the wedding?

Answer

Yes. And we don't want you to miss out on any, so here is a sneak peak; - The guestbook is an audio book. All you need to do is pick up the rotary phone and send a message after the tone! - You know the famous Kardashian B&W photobooth? You will walk away from this wedding with your new fav instagram photo so come looking your best! - Garden games during cocktail hour including toss across. - Photo op's in the garden including a cool neon sign, two special guests, selfie mirrors and the amazing garden flowers (and potentially cows if we are lucky!)

Question

Do you have a registry?

Answer

Keith and I currently have a small registry here: https://www.amazon.ca/wedding/tara-oneill-keith-parsons-fergus-july-2023/registry/M7V8AHAZT342 We are thankful to have lived together for the last 3 years that we have accumulated every fork, every appliance and decoration you can imagine. If you are feeling in a money-giving mood instead, we would love a contribution to our honeymoon in Japan this September - how about a bowl of ramen on you?

Question

What happens if Keith doesn't cry when Tara walks down the aisle?

Answer

We riot.
