Question

What is "Black Tie?"

Answer

Black tie is traditionally considered formal evening dress; A common misconception means that women must wear a gown — but not necessarily. A fancy and black-tie appropriate cocktail length dress fits within the dress code. Traditionally, for guys, this means a tuxedo with a variation of a black tie. However, a nice constructed suit with a tie can work — as we all know not everyone has tuxedos and gowns lying around in their closets.

Question

My "X" is not listed on my invitation. May I bring my "X" to the wedding or reception?

Answer

While we would love to invite as many as possible to share in this joyous occasion, our very large families preclude us from doing so. Unfortunately, attendance is limited to those to whom the invitation is addressed.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off!

Question

Can I bring a date or a friend?

Answer

If your invitation lists the name of your guest, then yes. If not, we would prefer if it was just you.

Question

I have food allergies and/or dietary restrictions. How do I inform the caterer?

Answer

The safety and comfort of our guests is of utmost importance. The "RSVP" page of our website inquires about food allergies/dietary restrictions. Alternatively, inform us with a call/text to DeVar at 337-577-2395.

Question

Do I need to RSVP? If so, how should I do so?

Answer

We are excited to have you celebrating our new beginning together. Allow us to lay out the red carpet as best we can for you, by informing us: 1) Whether or not you will attend and 2) Your meal preference--steak or fish. You can RSVP by clicking the "RSVP" section of our website or by calling/texting DeVar at 337-577-2395.

Question

What's the difference between the hotels?

Answer

Home2 Suites by Hilton is a hotel of modern suites. As part of the Parc Lafayette shopping center (see "Things to do") shops and eateries are readily available for your exploration. Our wedding ceremony and reception venue, Le Pavillon at Parc Lafayette, is a stone's throw away and can be accessed by a very short walk from this hotel. The Doubletree Hotel by Hilton provides a choice of traditional hotel rooms. It is a 5-7 minute drive to and from the wedding venue. If you require transportation to and from this hotel, please call/text DeVar at 337-577-2395. For more information about each hotel, please refer to the "Travel" page of our website where links to their websites are available.

Question

What is an "unplugged" wedding ceremony?

Answer

We've invited a few guys to do the work of recording our special event. As our guest, your night off includes phones, cameras, and other devices. During the ceremony, please turn off all devices and leave the work to the guys we invited. Feel free to power-up for the cocktail hour and reception!
