We met at Belle Place Middle School in 1992. In 1994, DeVar sat behind Tara in Physical Science class at New Iberia Freshman High School. On November 3rd, 2017, NISH class of 1997 held a party as part of its 20 year class reunion. DeVar claims that when he walked through the door, Tara grabbed him by the hand, pulled him onto the dance floor, and said, "Let's swing out." Later at the party, the couple bonded over experiences in behavioral therapy. In January 2018, Tara received roses at work with a card that read, "Enjoyed our conversation" along with DeVar's phone number.

We're still NOT engaged. Once DeVar finally convinced Tara they should marry and they chose a date, he made an appointment with a wedding designer, took her to the appointment, and said, "The ring is coming, we need to start planning."
