Yes! It's the quickest and cheapest way to get around. If you decide to wander around and want to use the transit system then please download the NY Transit App. It will give you the subway map but also arrival train times and trip planning tools. Metrocards are $1.00 for the physical card, and $2.75 per ride, per person. 7-day unlimited passes are $32 per person. They are for purchase at the kiosks in every station.
The best, and almost always the cheapest, mobile car share app here is JUNO. They only use the highest rated Uber and Lyft drivers, and the drivers get a bigger cut of the fee. Use this code for 30% off for the first 2 weeks. https://join.gojuno.com/2RWdUpeJJU
If you realllly want to drive, we have Car2Go. You need to download the app, and get your license vetted at least 3 days before you arrive. Driving here is hard, so do this one with caution.
Hopefully it'll be a great weather weekend, and should you be up to exploring on bike, Citi Bike is a bike sharing service in Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan and Jersey City. It's a pretty affordable way to get around, and NY has gotten a lot more bike lanes recently! It's intended for 30 minute rides, and you can re-dock them anywhere there's a docking station. Get the Citi Bike App for deals, and to sign up. There are day packages starting at $12, and longer stay packages that go up from there.
