It was a cool, crisp, February evening in Tucson, Arizona at a bar called "The Wreck" (unfortunately this establishment is now closed). Tani's college sorority was holding a costume party event. Tani was on the "security team" for this event and Chase had been taken by a friend. Chase arrived to the venue first, dressed to the nines as an Olympic Curler-- gold medal and all. Tani entered shortly after dressed as none other than Steve Irwin. Chase, clearly enamored by Tani's crocodile hunter get up, had a mutual friend introduce them to each other and the rest is history.
Chase had made the decision that he had wanted to propose in January 2020, but then a pesky global pandemic seemed to throw a wrench into his plans. Chase, Tani, and some of their closest friends went to Lake Tahoe for the Fourth of July and Chase thought that this was the perfect opportunity to pop the question. Chase coordinated with all of the pals to have a "photo shoot" one of the mornings. Tani, thinking nothing of it, and wanting a new headshot for Linked-in, was more than happy to partake. Then, Chase asked that he and Tani take a photo. The friends all quickly got into positions, and Chase popped the question. Tani answered with "of course".
