Maid of Honor
Technically my mother's cousin, but we were born only two months apart. We constantly argued and competed growing up because of our close age, and as we grew up, I realized she was like the sister I never had. There is never a dull moment with this bold, courageous, and hilarious woman, and now no one more understanding, supportive or generous. You were right, little Rebecca - New York is definitely better than Virginia, which makes it all the more fun dragging you here to stand next to me at our ceremony.
Best Man
In 5th grade, I ran into him at Best Buy, and 20 minutes later, I ran into him again at Target. At that moment, I knew - this was the guy. Since then, we have formed a strong comradery. His best characteristics are his trust, selflessness, and most importantly, his friendship. He has supported me through all obstacles and I appreciate everything he's done to make me a better person. 13 years later, I am proud to call him my Best Man. I would call him my best friend, but I consider him more as a brother.
Bridesmaid
My first cousin (on my Mother's side) from Puerto Rico who now lives in Durham, NC working at my family's restaurant. Our mothers are close and since Rashell and I are the only grandchildren without siblings, it feels like we're sisters instead of cousins. I missed out on seeing her for 6 years, but she went from acting like that little sibling that always tested your patience to a beautiful, hardworking woman who doesn't let anyone get in her way, especially in a restaurant kitchen. I couldn't be prouder.
Groomsman
My one and only blood brother. I love this guy so much (and not just cause I have to). Growing up with a brother is truly special. We hold a bond that will never be broken. I would do anything for him, and I know he would do the same. He is truly one of the most important people in my life and the best brother I could ever wish for. Being able to grow up with him was a blessing. I could not imagine getting married without him by my side. Love ya, bro.
Bridesmaid
My first cousin (on my Father's side) only a couple years younger than me. Lili, her brother Gabriel, and I were all born in Philly and are all only about a year apart in age, so we got to grow up and spend most of our childhood together. She's known Nick since the beginning (aka a long, long time) and now her beautiful daughter Amaryllis loves him too and will be walking down the aisle before me as well.
Groomsman
You don't mess around with this guy. He looks like a teddy bear on the outside, but he'll do anything for the people he loves. I know he's always got my back no matter what. I'll never forget all of the all-nighters we've pulled just talking about our lives and all of the Hennessy bottles we’ve downed lol. I didn't get to see him as often as I wanted due to distance, but I deeply appreciate all the guidance he's given me.
Bridesmaid
Our love for vegan food and animals helped us cross paths on Instagram, and her love for supporting small businesses helped us finally meet in Ontario, Canada in 2017. Since then, we constantly gushed about how much we missed each other, and make an effort to see each other at least once a year. She is the most compassionate, talented, and wise person I know, with a smile that will make anyone's day, and the only friend I am willing to drive nearly 8 hours straight to see and eat vegan food with.
Groomsman
This man is simply a role model. He's hardworking, dedicated, and his family will always come first. I can always count on him. His give-first mentality is what I admire the most. During our childhood, I always looked forward to spending Summers with him. Growing up wouldn't have been the same without him. I treasure all the countless memories we have together.
