Willis and I first met in the 9th grade. I knew he had a little crush on me then, but it took several years before we started dating. One Sunday, I ran into Willis at church and he asked me out on a date. I invited him over for dinner and prepared my signature meal... Yup, Take-Out. That brother was hooked! It wasn't long before we started dating. He was heavily pursuing his comedy career and I was busy climbing the corporate ladder. Unfortunately, Boston Market’s meatloaf and cornbread muffins weren't enough to overcome our demanding career choices. Sadly, our romance was short-lived. Nevertheless, we remained friends but seldom communicated. Fast forward about 16 years. February 2013- I noticed on Facebook that Willis was doing a show in Burbank and I commented on the post that I would attend. I took a friend, we grabbed a seat and the show began. Willis was the second comic up and as he began his set, he noticed me in the audience. He was obviously taken back as if a rush of emotion swept over him. I knew then we still had a connection that withstood time. Like a true professional, Willis regained his composure and delivered a HILARIOUS set! Later that night we caught up over a cup of coffee and the rest is history. We learned to make time for our relationship and allow Willis to cook as much as possible. Our relationship continues to grow stronger with each passing day. Sometimes we are a hot mess, and sometimes our absolute best, but always friends. Our love has been tried, tested, lost, and restored. It's beautiful, pure, and forever.
