The Wedding Website of Jennifer Tam and Ryan Haswell
Our wedding is on the San Juan Islands! There are many ways to get to the San Juan Islands, and each option is a unique and beautiful. We recommend planning your journey in advance, as getting to the island may require reservations, depending on your mode of travel. The most popular way to get to the San Juan Islands is by taking a Washington State Ferry. You can also get to the San Juan Islands by taking a wheeled passenger plane, seaplane, or private boat. The shorter your stay in the islands the more important it is to plan ahead. Booking activities, transportation, lodging, and dining in advance will make your trip run smoothly and you'll be more likely to get your first choices!

Travel Note

Via Ferry

The ferry leaves from Anacortes Ferry Terminal. Plan to arrive at the ferry 45 minutes before departure. Ferry reservations are required if you want to bring a car onto the island. You will start in Anacortes and take a ferry to Friday Harbor. Make sure you book a return voyage too. Keep in mind that if you choose to not stay the night on the island Saturday night, the latest ferry you can take back to the mainland is 10:00 (we think, unless they change the times). If you'd like to avoid the reservation system, you can park in Anacortes near the ferry and either walk or bike on. Walk/bike ons do not require reservations. If you arrive in Friday Harbor (where the ferry arrives) without a car you can easily get around town on foot or bike if you are staying in downtown Friday Harbor and utilize the San Juan transit or taxis. Pricing (Round Trip) Vehicle ($56.45 includes driver + $14/passenger) *larger vehicles may cost more Bike On ($18/pp) Walk On ($14/pp)

Travel Note

Via Passenger Ferry

The San Juan Clipper provides direct service between downtown Seattle and Friday Harbor, as well as whale and sea life sighting excursions. The Clipper is a high-speed passenger vessel that leaves from downtown Seattle's Pier 69. Departures to Friday Harbor are mid-May – October. The Seattle to San Juan Whale Watching tour includes an onboard naturalist and a souvenir guidebook to the San Juans for a fun and family-friendly educational day trip
