The First Time We Met

It all started on a school bus

A long dreaded day of going back to school, the weekend was just to much fun. I had pizza, slept in, played video games and stayed up all night watching Nickelodeon. Monday came all too fast, I didn't want to get up as I went to bed at 3am watching the latest episode of rocket power. My mom yelled up the stairs that if I didn't get up soon I would miss the bus. I groggily got ready for school and waited patiently at the bus stop for my bus to come. Finally it arrives and the doors flew open with the shout of a "Good Morning Irwyn" from my ever so cheery bus driver (who I would later get to call my mother-in-law). I grumbled a "hi" back and made my way to my seat. As I got to my seat I noticed there was a little girl wearing all pink laying in the seat with her curly hair a mess over her face, covered in a warm blanket and books off to the side. At first I was upset that my seat was taken but the more I looked at her face the less angry I became. I stood staring at her for a while until I was brought back with a shout from the cheerful bus driver letting me know that her daughter would be joining us today and I can pick another seat.

How we met part two

Reunited with a party

After hours of looking for someone to take me to my best Friends party I finally stopped on the page of Irwyn. We had been messaging back in forth for a few months as he kept checking in to make sure everything was okay during my separation. While keeping my fingers crossed I typed a quick message then held my breath waiting for his response. Luckily I didn't have to wait too long as he was quick to reply (Thank goodness, I wouldn't have lasted longer than 20 seconds.). He was excited to get out of the house as he had spent most of his day helping his parents with things around the house and eagerly accepted my request to attend the party. He said he needed to clean up and would be over shortly to pick me up. About an hour and forty five minutes later I was standing on the curb waiting for him to pull up. I was starting to doubt that he would come. As I was about to turn away to head back inside, I heard a car horn beep twice. I spun around quickly to see Irwyn pulling up in his 2014 corolla. He got out of the car to greet me with a hug then opened the door for me to get in. That was the beginning to a crazy night and the day I fell head over heels.

I will be there in a heartbeat

A day from hell turned into a night I will always remember

I had been up for almost 3-days, Jadiel's fever just wouldn't go away and he was in so much pain. They had given him some medicine to help bring it down and told me to give him lots of fluids. No matter what I did it just wouldn't go away. Irwyn had been texting me to check in on us but I wasn't able to say much as I was just exhausted from being up all night. He was headed to a Shamrock Fest in DC with his boys and wanted to let me know he may not hear his phone if I called but would respond to a text message in case I needed him. Jadiel was slowly getting worse, so I decided I was going to take him to the hospital. I threw on some cloths and sent a quick text to Irwyn letting him know that it was okay and I wouldn't be able to talk as well as I was rushing my son to the hospital for the second time that week. He texted back asking if I wanted him to come to the hospital and that he would get an uber there if I needed him. That was the night I knew he not only cared for me but my son as well.
