A Mehendi party is a pre-wedding event in the Hindu culture. The main focus of the event is the application of Mehendi, or henna, to the bride's & her female friend's and family's hands and feet. Mehendi is a paste associated with positive spirits and good luck. Indian Wedding tradition calls for a Mehendi ceremony to be held the night before the wedding as a way of wishing the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage.

Haldi is the Hindi name of Turmeric. In a Haldi event, a paste of Turmeric, sandalwood, & water is applied to both the bride and groom on the morning of their wedding. Turmeric is considered a cleanser and a purifier both literally and symbolically. As the bride and the groom take a step towards their new beginning, the haldi is believed to cleanse, purify, & bless the couple's minds and bodies. *Please note this event is limited to immediate family and wedding party.
