We're getting married!

We met as colleagues working for the District of Columbia Public Schools System. Antwon was a substitute teacher, and I supervised the subs. Antwon would check-in with me daily for his assignment which allowed us to become more familiar as co-workers. Over the course of his time there, he would bring me a McDonald's yogurt parfait most mornings and I would give him rides up the hill to the school if I happened to see him along my route to work. Although his version of the story is that I most often passed him by. Several months after he no longer subbed at the school, he reached out to me on Facebook and shortly thereafter, we developed a seven-year friendship where we have shared so many fun, interesting and exciting experiences together. it is said that " you should marry your best friend", so, fast forward to today, we are doing just that.

Antwon proposed on September 25, 2021 at dinner with our mothers. We discussed doing an activity with them so that they could meet. We attended a nice gospel play and ended with dinner at Clyde's. I had no idea he set this up as a way to ask for my hand in marriage.
