Because it doesn’t matter how old we are or what race we are. All that matters is our love for one another and our family. Chris and I met for a reason and that’s clear to us every single day. Everyday we strive to understand one another on a deeper emotional level. We show compassion and love when the other one isn’t feeling their best. We do the best we can to be better than we were the day before, which not only benefits us, but our son as well. One day, our son is going to look at us and see an the example of how to love and be loved and hopefully he’ll learn that love is a beautifully imperfect perfect thing that doesn’t have to be forced, it’s something that just is. Thank you all for joining our journey and experience and thank you for coming to celebrate us on our special day of love
Chris and I met in a very strange place. He worked at the gas station near my apartment and as soon as I saw him, I knew I wanted to get his attention. I would change into two or three different cute outfits to try and catch his eye. One day, I came into his work place with faux purple dread locs which he apparently liked. He said (out loud in his most Chris voice) “Hey I like your dreads! They’re fake right?” and gave me the prettiest smile. I was both embarrassed and impressed with his knowlege of hair extensions and confirmed they were indeed fake locs. He eventually asked for my number. We texted all day and later that night we hung out at his place. That was over two years ago and we’ve been happily together ever since.
