Things To Do

The Frida Kahlo Exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum

The Frida Kahlo Exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum

200 Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY 11238

This exhibit will be closing on our wedding weekend! If you're interested, you should definitely look into buying tickets in advance, to avoid it selling out.

Brooklyn Bridge Park

Brooklyn Bridge Park

334 Furman Street, Brooklyn Heights, NY 11201

This park is beautiful to walk around when the weather is nice. You can see an amazing view of the Manhattan skyline, and there's great food nearby. At one end you'll find the famous pizza places, Grimaldi's and Juliana's (Juliana's is better) and the Brooklyn Ice Cream Factory, which has great locally made ice cream. You can also cross the Brooklyn Bridge, if you're up for a walk (Hot Tip: NYC locals stay out of the bike lane when taking their pictures!).

Alamo Drafthouse

Alamo Drafthouse

445 Albee Square West, Downtown Brooklyn, NY 11201

One of our favorite places to see movies. You can order food and drinks to your seats while you watch!

Rose's

Rose's

295 Flatbush Avenue, Prospect Heights, NY 11217

Legitimately our favorite burger in New York, and it also happens to be a 5 minute walk from our house! If you're not into burgers, everything we've had on their menu (including their cocktails) are great!

Walk in Prospect Park

Walk in Prospect Park

Brooklyn, NY 11225

This is Brooklyn's version of Central Park, by the same designer. We like it better, but we might be biased. At the entrance on Grand Army Plaza you'll see the Soldiers' and Sailors' Memorial Arch and the central branch of the Brooklyn Public Library, which was designed to look like an open book. There's also a Farmer's Market at the entrance every Saturday until 3pm!

Museum of the Moving Image

Museum of the Moving Image

36-01 35th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11106

Nearby in Queens, this museum has a permanent Jim Henson collection, several props and exhibits from movies and television, and a small arcade with free video games in the basement!

Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden

Bohemian Hall and Beer Garden

2919 24th Avenue, Astoria, NY 11102

It's a giant beer garden in the middle of Astoria, Queens. I don't think we have to do much to sell it.

For all the days along the way
