The Road So Far...

Waikiki, HI: Summer 2012

At the time, both Taylor and Jon were working at a local t-shirt store, Crazy Shirts (or Crazy Shits as they so call it). She worked at one location, and he another. It was rare for employees to cover shifts for other stores, but that day Jon happened to be working at Taylor's store. They talked throughout the shift, but no feelings arose. In fact, Taylor viewed Jon to be a bit of an asshole after she said goodbye to him as he left for the day, and he continued to walk out without responding. Jon was too preoccupied on going home to notice anyone in the store. He thought she was very pretty, but she was brand new, so he figured he wouldn't see her again. Also, Jon had his earphones on and could not hear Taylor, despite Taylor swearing that he didn't. In the months to follow Taylor would stop by when Jon was working to harass him and knock over folded piles, while he would hide mannequins in dark closets at the new store for her to find. Somehow a friendship formed...

...

Aiea, HI: May 2013

After Jon returned home from Vegas (a graduation gift to himself), the two went out to dinner to celebrate, since Taylor couldn't attend his ceremony. They talked for hours, and it was the first time since moving to Hawaii that Taylor felt she could have an actual conversation with someone, especially someone as sarcastic as herself. She didn't want to go home. Jon felt comfortable talking about his ideas so openly with someone like Taylor. Jon had finally found an open ear that wouldn't shy away from quips or outlandish sarcasm. A few more months passed of this; meals and long conversations before they decided to go on a date. They met for a movie, where Taylor proceeded to fall asleep for nearly the entire thing. They walked to the bus stop, where Jon quickly snagged his first kiss before rushing onto the bus. They began their relationship on September 12, 2013. Taylor moved in with Jon and his mom, where they lived in a tiny room for a year. Jon's mother was not so comfortable having Taylor over for that long, so Taylor moved into her own place with a roommate. However, ironically, it would be up the street, 5 minutes from Jon. They would spend many hours at Pearl Ridge Mall together to pass the time. That year they gained their beautiful daughter, Marigold. A year later, they finally settled into a place of their own, with their little family.

"Question"

One day, after teaching 180 high school teenagers while in ass-deep influenza, Jon decided to visit Pearl Ridge Mall to purchase an engagement ring. Jon had been thinking about it for a while, but decided to get the ring that day. After spending about an hour in the store, he finally pulled the trigger. A whopping 35 cent ring from the egg machine in the food court (at least that's what Jon tells Taylor). He hid the ring and waited for the perfect moment. On September 14, 2018, Jon popped the question. At home, in his boxers, Jon enters the bedroom where he finds Taylor engaged in a discussion with Marigold. "Marigold, did you know your father and I have been in a relation-shit for 5 years?" said Taylor to Marigold. "We're not in a relationship anymore." proclaimed Jon. Bewildered, Taylor looks at Jon like he's a babbling baboon. "What do you mean?" asked Taylor. "We're not in a relationship because we're engaged now. Taylor Gambler, will you marry me?" Jon whipped out the 35 cent ring. With tears in her eyes, and dog in his face (Marigold was jumping all over Jon), they were bound to spend the rest of their lives together.
