In 2013 Chance and Lydia met at a ministry, Erie Young Adults. Aside from polite small talk here and there, they never carried out a true conversation. They were friends on Facebook just as the majority of the other members were. Life took them separate ways and Lydia moved to Nashville and thought she was content independently pursuing her career. Lydia relocated back to Erie and had asked Facebook for some help moving a desk. Chance obliged, offering his services out of goodwill. One night in prayer, Lydia made known her heart’s desire for a husband. (That’s putting it lightly. I’m sure if you know Lydia, you can picture her…melodramatics. Imagine a frustrated yelling match with her almighty Abba father, throwing a tantrum over her sudden distress of singleness). The next day on July 24, Chance met her bright and early to help move the desk. After the hour it took, Chance offered to spend the day helping. It was evident in conversation that both had a heart for the Lord. The day turned into evening and the night proceeded with deep conversation. After 13 hours together, they called it a night. Their first formal date was on August 1 and it was only a few days later that they were exclusive on August 5. The next few dates were absolutely magical - sunsets, stargazing, summer nights at the pier, 3am lightning storms. Their schedules didn’t align working first and second shift but they were inseparable. They packed their schedule with adventures: put-put, lunch dates, hiking, camping, day trips, art exhibits, concerts, farmers markets, festivals, kayaking, cooking, and even their favorite: grocery shopping. More than anything, they spend their time pursuing their life purpose and have been blessed with each other to walk through life together. They want to celebrate with you their love for each other and their love for you. Whether far or near, distant or dear, they wish that you would be here. Please join us to celebrate the union of Chance and Lydia.
