The Story of Us

Dana Gardens

Every love story is filled with unique twists and turns, like a river that is filled with wondrous wildlife at every bend. Ryan Talty grew up in the small town of Fairport, just outside of Rochester NY, with his older brother and sister. After high school, he decided to become a Xavier Musketeer. He packed up his Kia and found himself living away from home in Cincinnati, Ohio. Taj grew up in Mason, Ohio, a small town not far from Cincinnati with her younger sister. Upon her high school graduation, she followed her calling into nursing at Xavier University as well. Although these two went to the same college, it would be nearly three and a half years, a shared driveway, and Dana’s Club before these two made a love connection. Their first date, in true Talty fashion, involved a golf club, and after only one month of dating, Ryan brought Taj to Florida to meet his parents (he’d already been inducted into a few Sandhu rituals). It was true love. Shortly after college graduation, Taj made the difficult, yet exciting decision to follow her passion as a nurse to San Francisco, where she embarked on a new chapter in her life. It was bittersweet as she left Ryan, who’d just gotten his first job in Cincinnati. Neither one wanted to hold the other back, however, after only a few months of being separated, this couple realized that life without each other wasn’t the same. Ryan packed up his apartment (called his mama for some help) and joined Taj in San Francisco. It was in that city that they learned what true love was all about between living in a tiny studio apartment, Covid, and getting a puppy named Sabre. However, a year into their new adventure, it was time to call Ryan’s mama, rent an RV, and head back to Cincinnati to Taj’s parents’ home so Taj could go to NP school. Their love is strong and grows stronger every day. They have the support of their families, but most of all, they have each other.
