Groom
Meet the Groom — Corey (aka Jonathan, aka Jon) Known legally as Jonathan and to his colleagues as Jon — but always Corey to Whitney — this groom wears many hats (and maybe a flight headset or two). A proud aviation mechanic for Southwest Airlines for the past decade, Corey has spent nearly twenty years keeping planes — and dreams of travel — aloft. When he’s not on the tarmac, you’ll find him at home tending to his thriving collection of plants and an impressive vegetable garden, or behind the bar perfecting his next cocktail. A self-proclaimed beer snob and amateur mixologist, Corey’s specialties range from supper-club classics to tropical tiki creations worthy of a layover in paradise. He and Whitney share a love of exploring new places, and next on his bucket list? An unforgettable safari adventure.
Bride
Before meeting Corey, Whitney’s passport was her most prized possession. She spent her early years traveling and living abroad, chasing new experiences (and stories) that shaped her adventurous spirit and eye for beauty in all its forms. For the past 11 years, Whitney has built her career in healthcare at UChicago Medicine, where she channels her curiosity and creativity into improving systems, elevating data, and driving meaningful change. Outside of work, Whitney’s passions take center stage — she’s an interior design enthusiast, a lover of spontaneous adventures, and the creative force behind countless home projects. Most of all, Whitney treasures time with Corey (and their beloved schnauzer, Webster), whether it’s hosting dinner or pool parties, planning their next getaway, or dreaming up their future adventures — because life’s greatest trip is the one they’re taking together.
Dog of Honor
No celebration would be complete without a nod to our favorite four-legged family member — Webster, our beloved miniature schnauzer. Equal parts gentleman and mischief-maker, Webster has been with us through every chapter of our story — from cozy nights at home to home projects and garden adventures. While he won’t be joining us at the Chicago Athletic Association (he has politely declined black tie), he’s already made his mark on the festivities in spirit — from helping with engagement photo outtakes to inspiring his wedding mocktail. Rest assured, Webster will be celebrating from home with a bone, a nap, and probably a touch more attention than he deserves.
Maid of Honor
Whitney met Heather in 2012 while studying for her Master’s degree in London, and they’ve been partners-in-crime ever since. Total opposites in just about every way, they’ve spent years challenging (and occasionally confusing) each other — which is exactly what’s made their friendship so strong. Heather has also been front row for Whitney’s spin on the dating hamster wheel, cheering her on through every high, low, and “what was I thinking?” moment. So when Corey came along, Heather knew this one was different — and she couldn’t have been more excited. Now she’s standing proudly by Whitney’s side, ready to keep her grounded and probably make her laugh at the exact wrong moment.
Bridesmaid
If there’s laughter echoing through the room, Erika is probably at the center of it. She’s the life of the party and has been keeping Whitney entertained since they were kids. The two once set off on a whirlwind trip to Norway to explore their family roots — somehow surviving with nothing but a Blackberry GPS and questionable parking habits. (They’re still half-convinced there’s a ticket with their names on it floating around Norway.) Erika’s adventurous spirit, quick wit, and love for her family make her the kind of cousin, and friend, everyone wishes they had.
Bridesmaid
Stephanie’s nurturing spirit has been evident since she was little — as the youngest cousin, she loved pushing Whitney around in her stroller. That caring nature has only grown with time, now extending to her three beautiful children, a menagerie of animals in Texas, and her family and friends. An entrepreneur at heart, Stephanie has worn many hats: skincare consultant, gym owner, and even petting zoo/party venue operator. No matter the role, she puts her heart into everything she does — and Whitney is grateful to have her by her side once again.
Bridesmaid
To Whitney, Morgan has always been the “cool, older cousin” — the one with the transparent landline phone and an endless supply of stories. As a kid, Whitney looked up to her so much she even “borrowed” Easter eggs straight out of Morgan’s basket during family hunts. Over the years, Morgan’s knack for storytelling and ability to light up a room has never faded. She’s someone Whitney has always admired, and she feels lucky to now have Morgan standing beside her on such a big day.
Bridesmaid
Whitney is thrilled to have the next generation of her family by her side, starting with Sawyer. She and Hadley already made their mark on the wedding planning process during the all-important dress shopping trip, where their brutally honest (and hilarious) feedback sealed the deal. (Best quote of the day: “That doesn’t look like a wedding dress — it looks like a prom dress.”) Stephanie’s daughter, Sawyer, is a rising high school freshman and a talented show jumper in Texas. Fierce, determined, and always up for a challenge, Sawyer brings a competitive spirit to everything she does — including fashion critiques.
Bridesmaid
Whitney is also overjoyed to have Hadley as part of the celebration. Alongside Sawyer, she played a key role in the wedding dress search, offering the kind of unfiltered feedback only kids can deliver — and keeping everyone laughing along the way. Erika’s daughter, Hadley, loves her family, dressing up, and is already a wonderful big sister. She has a natural sparkle and enthusiasm that makes every event more fun, and her excitement about all things wedding has been truly contagious.
Flower Girl
Don’t let her size fool you — Rylan has a big personality packed into a small frame. She’s strong-willed, independent, and definitely marches to the beat of her own drum. One thing’s for sure: Rylan is going to steal the show on her way down the aisle.
Best Man
Colin is Corey’s younger brother — by 15 years. Corey still remembers changing his diapers and babysitting him, so it’s a little surreal that Colin is now all grown up and standing beside him as Best Man. (Talk about a glow-up.) Fun fact: it was photos from Corey and Colin’s London trip that first caught Whitney’s eye on Hinge — so Colin kind of played wingman before they even met.
Groomsman
Corey and Dan met nearly 20 years ago while attending their aviation program at Columbus State. When both of them lived in the Chicago area, they went on plenty of city adventures — often right near Whitney’s condo, long before Corey and Whitney had even met. While they no longer live near each other, their bond has remained strong, built on years of friendship, countless flights, and a shared love of craft beer.
Groomsman
When Corey first joined Southwest Airlines in 2015, Fabian was one of the first people he connected with. An extrovert through and through, Fabian has a knack for pushing Corey out of his comfort zone — a balance that has made their friendship (and their jokes) stronger. Corey and Fabian affectionately refer to each other as their “work-wives,” a title they both wear proudly.
Ring Bearer
Our ring bearer, ahem, Ring Security, needs no introduction. Beckett is a feisty preschooler who’s more than ready to take center stage — and trust us, you won’t be able to miss him. Outfitted with his signature sunglasses, earpiece, and a very important briefcase, he’s on a top-secret mission to keep the rings safe and the energy high. Just don’t be surprised when you see him trading his security detail for a starring role on the dance floor.
Officiant
Every great wedding needs a great officiant — and for us, that’s Patrick. Outgoing, welcoming, and full of energy, he has a zest for life that we knew would translate perfectly into this role. Patrick has a way of making everyone feel at ease, whether it’s on the hockey rink, at a family gathering, or standing at the altar. We couldn’t imagine anyone better to guide us through our “I do’s” and set the tone for a joyous celebration.
