We're Getting Married!

It all began on Bumble, the dating app where women make the first move. Taelor decided to start things off with a quirky question: "If you could only have one sauce for the rest of your life, which would you choose—ketchup, BBQ sauce, or ranch?" His answer caught her attention instantly. He chose ketchup, explaining that you could make BBQ sauce out of it, so in a way, you’d get two sauces for the price of one. She found his answer incredibly creative, and it sparked her interest to get to know him better. They quickly made plans to meet up, but she had some reservations. At the time, Taelor was moving to Santa Rosa, and the idea of a long-distance relationship seemed a bit daunting. She voiced her concerns to him, but he wasn’t deterred. He was excited to meet her and wasn’t fazed by the distance. Their first date took place at a pool bar in Chico, where, true to form, Zak absolutely dominated Taelor in every single game of pool. (Seriously, the guy is ridiculously athletic.) She had invited a friend along to join them, just to be safe, since online dating can be unpredictable. But even with her friend tagging along, he wasn’t put off. He still made a point to engage in conversation and get to know her better, clearly more interested in her company than the fact that someone else was there. From that night on, they found themselves spending nearly every free moment together. As time went on, the distance between them started to feel like less of an obstacle. They realized that living apart wasn’t sustainable, and after almost a year of commuting back and forth, they decided to take the leap and move in together. From a simple question on Bumble to their first date full of pool games and unexpected company, their story has been full of unexpected twists and turns. But through it all, they’ve found something truly special in each other, and they can’t wait to continue writing their story together.
