Keep it light! And if you haven't seen the sun in a while....don't skimp on the sunscreen. The sun does her own thing here!
Hawaii has some of the best food! But, many places just do cash. So, keep in mind it will be handy to have cash on you. It is also very pricey. However, it's truly a gem! My favorite places: Broke Da Mouf - local style meals. My favorite is the Spicy Garlic Furikake Chicken. Tita's Grill - this is at the PCC. everything is good!!! Papa Ole's - love their chicken and kalbi. they make a mean omelet too! Sprout's - a fun sandwich place in town, if you like that stuff. Kim Chee 7 - MEAT JUN! Don't be scared by your surroundings. It's a classic meal. I love it. Seven Brothers - another favorite on the north shore, great environment. Foodland: try poke, yes it is raw fish. But go get a poke bowl. AMAZING. Boots and Kimo's - get there early and try their Mac nut pancakes or ribs and eggs!!!! AHH I LOVE! DESSERTS: Angel's Ice Cream - in Laie, they have ube and cotton candy shakes. Personally, mine and Michael's favorite. Badabingsu - super fun, lines can be long though. Boba - too many places for me to list.
I think you should go to places all over the island! Some only stay on the North Shore or stay in Waikiki, but truly each side of the island has its own personality! East Side - Visit Hanauma Bay or Koko Head ( killer workout but great views. recommend sunrise hike for that one.) and visit Halona Beach Cove, Spitting Caves. West Side - Broke Da Mouf is one of my favorite places to eat! Aulani resorts and beaches are on this side. Nanakuli is a great beach. Sunsets are the best here. North Shore - Waimea Bay, Haleiwa shops, Sharks Cove (snorkeling) and Sunset beach are great beaches to see on your way to Laie. Windward Side - Lanikai Pill box hike and beach are great, kayak out to China Man's Hat and see the botanical garden! So beautiful as well over here. Town - If you want to spend time in Honolulu, there are great sights just to be in the city and enjoy all the stores. Ala Moana is a very impressive outdoor mall. You can bike around town or enjoy the parks there. Lots of great places to eat there!
