NO! Do NOT drink the tap water in Sayulita. Always drink from bottled water. Most properties provide large jugs of filtered drinking water. Most restaurants use filtered water for ice, but never hurts to ask!
We suggest exchanging before you arrive or at the airport, as most places only take pesos. You can always ask to use dollars or credit cards, however, the exchange rate varies, and is not in your favor. There are ATM's available in Sayulita that dispense both USD and Pesos, but they're not always available to use.
Yes, Sayulita is a family-friendly, small village, where the locals welcome visitors. There are no traffic lights and there is only one main road that goes in and out of town. To avoid any theft, we recommend keeping your valuables locked in your accommodation’s safe, just as you would when traveling anywhere else.
Sayulita is a very casual town (think surfers and yogis) and is made up of cobblestone streets and unpaved roads. Ladies: I do NOT recommend any sort of stiletto!
