For our first date we met at The Silver Lining Creamery in downtown Fargo. As someone with an avid sweet tooth, ice cream was my request (although I didn't know at the time that Kole did not share my affinity for sweets -- side note: this has begun to change!). Kole got there first, and I remember when I walked in and saw him he gave me a sweet smile and a hug. We chatted in line and I ordered an Oreo milkshake and Kole got two scoops of ice cream in a dish (we don't remember the flavor, he always switches it up). I knew I was nervous, and I could tell he was too, but there was a feeling of comfortability and familiarity that was very calming. We sat at a table towards the back and talked about a little bit of everything. Oddly, even our dentists came up into conversation! After about two hours of getting to know each other, it was evident we both were feeling pretty excited about one another, and decided to take a walk downtown. Kole showed me his office building and we exchanged stories about the bars and other places we'd been in and out of in the area. The night ended at his house, with a slight panic from me after pulling into the garage and seeing an out-of-a-horror-movie tool wall, but clearly things ended up going very, very well as we are now counting down the days to being married!
