Grandfather Mountain
We went here one of my first visits to North Carolina. This view is incredible, honestly one of the neatest places to experience. If you do opt to also do the strenuous hike, be warned that it is NOT easy, it involves bouldering, climbing ladders, and tricky maneuvers, but the view is definitely worth it. If you are more of the drive up to the views kind of person, don't worry you can definitely do that too.
Blowing Rock
If you want to just get out and walk around and enjoy some shopping and local experiences, this is the place.
Banner Elk Winery & Villa
They offer a variety of award winning wine, and offer tastings daily for $10. Check it out if you're into wine!
Grandfather Vineyard & Winery
An incredible little vineyard whose view and grounds are almost as amazing as the wine. Check it out for some local wine culture, and say hello to the doggos that live and work there too!
