Yes, you read it right. We met exactly 6 years from our wedding date! We met on a random Saturday night at an island party in Boracay. I, Queenie, was working in a laboratory clinic during that time and Szymon was just starting his backpacking trip all over Asia and Europe. When the universe decided to conspire and make our souls meet, everything else just kept on happening. Big thanks to my co-worker who was overly friendly and introduced Szymon to me! We then danced the night away and exchanged our contacts. We just clicked and ended up spending the rest of Szymon's days on the island together. Three days later, Szymon left the island to continue his travel journey and I went back to my normal daily life. And ever since then, our hearts decided to beat as one despite all the distance. And yes again, we met at the island where we will finally tie the knot!

Szymon's POV As a long-distance couple, we used to travel a lot either locally in the Philippines or to other countries in Asia. When I finally decided I'm ready to pop the question, Queenie probably thought that it's going to be like our usual vacations we always take. I then flew her to Thailand to celebrate the 2022 New Year's with me while she's on her holiday break from medical school. One of our destinations in Thailand was Maya Bay - a beach that Queenie has been dreaming of going to ever since she read a book and watched a movie about it called “The Beach”. I made it my mission to keep the ring a secret until we made it to that location and it was hard! Then we finally made it there and Queenie had someone record a normal video of us like we always share on social media. I chickened out to drop on one knee as we were getting pictures and videos done but then our boat tour guide told us we have 15 more min before we have to go back on the boat and I thought to myself, it’s now or never. I asked our tour guide to get just one last video of us and I got on my knee and popped the question. Queenie thought that I was just messing around until I pulled out the ring and she was completely shocked and couldnt believe it was actually happening. It's the best decision I've ever made 'til this day.
