FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please let us know if you’ll be joining us by May 20th, 2026. We’re so excited to celebrate with you and want to make sure everything is planned with you in mind!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes! Los Angeles will be one of the host cities for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, and matches will be happening around the same time as our celebration. The city will be extra lively—with fans, festivities, and lots of energy—which we think adds to the excitement! That said, it also means hotels and accommodations may book up quickly, so we strongly recommend securing your stay as soon as possible.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We kindly ask guests to dress in formal or cocktail attire. Think elevated, celebratory, and stylish. This is a special occasion, and we’d love to see you in your finest!

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Please navigate to the Travel & Accommodations page for detailed information about how to get around and where to stay.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We won’t be offering shuttles, as most recommended hotels are just a short walking distance from the venue. For guests staying farther out, Metro, rideshare services, or even a rental car are great options for getting around. LA has plenty of transit choices, so feel free to choose what works best for your trip.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please contact Szi Kiat and Dylan directly to figure out food accommodations. We will make sure you leave with a full belly regardless of dietary restrictions!

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

To keep the atmosphere intimate and joyful for all, we kindly ask that guests make arrangements for childcare. Our celebration will be adults-only.

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with you! Due to space limitations, plus ones are by invitation only. If your guest is included, you’ll see their name listed on your invitation. We truly appreciate your understanding as we try to keep things intimate and meaningful.

Question

How safe is Los Angeles? Where should guests generally avoid?

Answer

LA is generally safe and welcoming, especially in the neighborhoods we’ve highlighted. That said, like any major city, there are a few areas we recommend steering clear of—not because they’re dangerous for visitors, but simply because there’s nothing of interest for tourists and they can feel less comfortable. We suggest avoiding: • South Central • Westlake • Downtown LA’s Skid Row, which is roughly bounded by Main Street, 3rd Street, 7th Street, and Alameda Street (including a buffer zone beyond actual boundaries for maximum caution). The area is basically a square and can be easily avoided. Most these areas aren’t near any wedding events or recommended destinations, so it’s very unlikely you’d end up there by accident. Just use basic situational awareness, stay alert, secure your belongings, and stick to well-lit areas at night, and you’ll be absolutely fine.

Question

Should I bring cash or card?

Answer

LA is pretty much a cashless city, so we strongly recommend using a credit or debit card. Most restaurants, shops, and venues accept cards—and many even offer QR codes for Venmo or Zelle if you prefer mobile payments. It’s a good idea to carry a small amount of cash for emergencies, but you likely won’t need it for day-to-day purchases.

Question

What’s the tipping etiquette in LA?

Answer

For our international guests, here’s a quick guide: • Standard tipping rate is around 18%, especially at sit-down restaurants and bars. Some people tip 25% or more for stellar service, but note that this is NOT required or expected at all. • Always tip wait staff and bartenders—it’s a core part of their income. • Fast food and hourly counter-service workers typically don’t expect tips. • At cafés and coffee shops, tipping is optional—use your discretion. • For other services like barbers, stylists, nail technicians, and transportation (taxis, ride-shares), tipping is customary and appreciated. • For retail workers, tips are never expected nor required. You do not need to tip that friendly sales or checkout person in some boutique. • Generally, streetside stalls also do not expect tips. If you’re unsure, a friendly 15–20% tip is a safe bet for most service interactions.
