Surrounded by 2.4 miles of medieval walls, this historic site is impossible to miss. During the day, Old Town is great for shopping and exploring.. think winding cobblestone streets, local boutiques, souvenir shops, cafés, and historic landmarks tucked around every corner. It’s easy to spend a few hours wandering and popping in and out of shops. At night, it feels completely different. The stone walls and streets are softly lit, the energy picks up, and the Old Town turns into a lively spot for dinner and drinks. Restaurants and bars fill the alleyways, and the whole area has a romantic, buzzing atmosphere that’s perfect for an evening out. Whether you go during the day, at night, or both, Old Town is absolutely worth a visit while you’re in Rhodes. PALIA POLI HOTSPOTS: - Archipelagos Restaurant - Hans & Gretel - Fuego Music Bar Cannot go wrong with getting lost in there for boutique goods and art Check out the skincare at the pharmacies
One of our favorite spots on the island. A postcard-perfect village with whitewashed buildings, beautiful beaches, and the Acropolis overlooking the sea. The beach is lovely with clear blue water (pretty much everywhere in Greece), though it can get crowded in the summer. Sitting above the village is the Acropolis of Lindos, which has incredible views of the coastline. Donkey rides are a traditional way to get up the steep hills and are still commonly used today. The village itself is perfect for wandering. Lots of small shops, cafés, and local spots to explore. At night, Lindos really shines. The Acropolis lights up, rooftop restaurants and bars come alive, and the whole area has a fun, lively atmosphere that’s perfect for dinner or drinks. If you’re looking for a place that blends history, beach time, and great nightlife, Lindos is a must. LINDOS HOTSPOTS: Kava Kantina Wine Bar Dionysus Restaurant Kori (this is a boutique) Palestra (restaurant on the main beach in lindos)
If your ideal day includes sun, salt water, good music, and a cocktail in hand..this one’s for you. Rhodes does beach clubs very well, and hopping from one to the next is highly encouraged. Some of our favorites: - Ronda Beach Bar/Elli Beach (also nice spots for nighttime cocktails) - Ammades - Tulum Beach Bar - Galazio (much chiller vibe than everything else in this section but love the food and vibe) - Amalfi Coast Rhodes - Kalami Beach Bar (they host great parties on sundays!) - Villa Di Mare Pool - Club 8 Pool - NAYA Beach Bar Expect loungers, lively energy, great food.
Greek food is incredible, and there’s no shortage of amazing places to eat around Rhodes. A few spots we love: Taverna O Giannis (Maritsa) — Our brother-in-law’s family restaurant in Maritsa, the village where Panteli’s mom’s side of the family is from. Best authentic Greek food on the island and a longtime family favorite Masasoura (Maritsa) — owned by our cousins Pasatempos Aegean Fish — pick your seafood and they’ll cook it fresh for you Cavo Italiano / Cavo Tango — where we’re hosting our rehearsal dinner Something Different Kaliva Restaurant Yiannis Grill House Stegna Kozas Mponiatis (Ο’Μπονιάτης) Also worth noting: Old Town favorites: Archipelagos Restaurant, Mezzaluna, Mama Sophia’s, PitaFan Old Town Ialyssos has tons of great restaurants (15–20 mins from Faliraki/Kallithea) Kremasti: Canton — our favorite Asian spot on the island Lindos at night is stunning. Favorites include Cesars Meze & Akres (about 40 mins away)
Because no Greek summer night is complete without something sweet. Whether after dinner, after the beach, or somewhere in between, these are a few of our favorite spots • Pagotomania • Hans & Gretel (Old Town) • Creamland • DaVinci Gelato • Icecone.Tainer • Stani (ΣΤΑΝΗ) • Cream Donuts
Anthony Quinn Bay is one of the most beautiful coves on Rhodes, known for its crystal-clear turquoise water and dramatic rocky cliffs. It’s a smaller beach, but what it lacks in size it more than makes up for in scenery. It’s a great spot for swimming and snorkeling! The water is incredibly clear, and the rocky shoreline makes it perfect for exploring. If you’re looking for a beach that feels more natural, scenic, and very photo-worthy, this one is absolutely worth the stop. We’re planning our post-wedding beach party here… stay tuned 🌊✨
Because… this is Greece 🇬🇷🌊 Pack the sunscreen, stay for one more swim, and don’t overthink it. Best Family-Friendly Beaches: - Tsambika Beach: A long stretch of fine, golden sand with shallow water, tucked between hills. Easy, beautiful, and great for all ages. - Lindos Beach: (If you're in Lindos) right below the Acropolis with calm, shallow water. Gorgeous setting, though it does get busy. - Agathi Beach: Soft sand, very shallow and warm water. Perfect if you’re beaching it with kids. Best for Relaxation & Seclusion: - Grande Blue Beach – Stunning views and crystal-clear water (just be prepared for the stairs) - Traganou Beach – My favorite beach on the entire island. Unreal water, quieter vibe, and perfect if you’re craving something a little more peaceful.
BEST NIGHTCLUBS (*vibe subject to change depending on the summer but these are the staples): NOR Macao Alter Ego Leyla (not always super packed but really cool venue with good djs) SOHO Esperinos in Maritsa (owned by our cousins small but iconic)
One of the best ways to explore Rhodes is by renting a car and driving around the island. The scenery changes quickly (coastlines, mountains, villages, and hidden beaches) and it’s easy to explore at your own pace. Along the way, stop at Ancient Kamiros, Monolithos Castle, or Kritinia Castle for incredible views. For something more relaxed, visit Valley of the Butterflies or Epta Piges. Just outside Embonas, you’ll find local wine and honey tastings. Rhodes is known for its dry white and sweet wines. For a more active beach day, Windsurfer’s World offers windsurfing, kitesurfing, and wingfoiling. You can also visit Agia Tsambika Monastery, known for its panoramic views and “miracle monastery” tradition. Boat excursions around the island are also plentiful, affordable, and easy to book through TripAdvisor.
Sklavenitis (ΣΚΛΑΒΕΝΙΤΗΣ) and Lidl are both great grocery store options located within about 15 minutes of Faliraki. PAPPOU is another good option for groceries and essentials, though parking can be a bit more difficult there. You’ll also find plenty of traditional Greek “periptero” street kiosks around the island, which are perfect for last-minute essentials like cold water, snacks, sunscreen, and other small necessities.
