The baraat is the groom's procession into the ceremony. It begins the celebration with excitement, singing, dancing, and laughter and carries the groom right up to the ceremony. The Manglik Prasango is a familial event comprised of several different ceremonies that take place prior to the wedding day. The event includes prayers to Lord Ganesha, a Hindu diety known as the remover of obstacles. The Pithi ceremony involves loved ones rubbing a paste made of chickpeas, turmeric, and rosewater onto the face, arms and legs of the bride and groom. This is meant to symbolize cleansing of the body and the attainment of maturity for marriage.
Lunch and dinner will be a vegetarian buffet. We will have some of our favorite Indian and American dishes. We hope you try something new!
