We had just traveled from Chicago to Grand Teton National Park and have been awake for 20 hours. As we were setting up the campsite, Deep said "we have to wake up to see the sunrise tomorrow". I pushed back saying "we're here for a week; can't we sleep in tomorrow and see the sunrise another day?" He insisted. So we woke up at 4 am, made some tea, and drove to Oxbow Bend Overlook. I stayed in the car while Deep set up his camera. I saw him chatting with some of the other photographers there, as he usually does. As the sun started to rise and the sky changed colors, Deep asked one of the other photographers to take a picture of us. As the photographer took our picture, Deep got down on one knee! Together we witnessed a beautiful classic Teton sunrise, then enjoyed breakfast on the lake.
Last summer, we hiked our first peak above 13,000ft, Grizzly Peak. Along the hike, we looked down across the Continental Divide and noticed a beautiful secluded lake just past Loveland Pass. We both thought, "how cool would it be to get married there?" With our original wedding plans postponed due to covid, we decided to get married in the mountains! Together with our parents and siblings, we returned to that same lake we saw from atop Grizzly Peak and exchanged our vows at 11,990ft. Our celebration this year marks our official one year anniversary and we cannot wait to celebrate with you all!
