Her Side: Its true what they say; you find love when you are living your best life. The year 2019 was a great year. I was traveling, meeting new friends, achieving goals; secular and spiritual. All while curving every guy near and far, including this cute, (and persistent) guy, James. We knew of each other through mutual friends on social media. When he first "slid in my DMs", naturally, I ignored him, despite my friend Precious telling me how he was such a "good man". It wasn't until the 2019 Convention, when she again urged me to give James a shot, that I decided to give dating a try. I carefully set the trap with an Instagram post. Just as expected, James messaged me and I said “let’s see where this goes.” Our first date was in Atlanta, on Aug 31st. It was perfect. He was perfect (you were right Precious!). That weekend was full of fun and deep conversations. On a Ferris Wheel ride downtown we talked, laughed, and I even shed a few thug tears. Before the ride was over, as we looked over the Atlanta skyline, he got down on his knee and asked me to be his girlfriend. I said yes. It’s been blessings ever since. His Side: I first noticed Sylvia on social media. She caught my eye with her art, photography and taste in music. I'd messaged her here and there and she wouldn't really respond. Which was understandable. I knew she was focusing on her. Finally she came around to talking and I tried to keep that thang going. For days she would ghost me, come back, then ghost me again. Really making me work for it. Finally, I messaged her and we talked about music. I seized my chance and asked for her number. We talked every day until Labor Day weekend, when we had our first date. She was beautiful. I knew before we met that I wanted her to be mine, but that night confirmed it. On the Ferris Wheel overlooking downtown Atlanta, I got down on one knee and asked her to be my girlfriend. Just getting my practice in. lol She said yes and its been an exciting journey ever since.
