Although we love your little ones, due to the venue capacity, we kindly ask for you to enjoy a kid-free evening with us! Unless specifically addressed, please refrain from bringing your 18 and under children to the wedding events.
A road-trip in late September could be a beautiful alternative to flying! The other option is to fly into CLT airport and rent a car to get into the mountains. GSO is another airport about 2 hours away from our venue.
The weather in late September can vary in North Carolina. We will be in the mountains so the temperature is a few degrees cooler up there. My best guess for our weather will be 60-75 degrees.
Friday attire: Snappy casual- Polos, khakis, casual dresses Saturday attire: We are requesting cocktail attire, mid to floor length dresses and suits! Please avoid white/ivory dresses *The Ceremony will be in the grass so plan heels accordingly*
We will have two shuttles running from the Country Inn Boone and the Hampton Inn Boone as well as Park Vista. The shuttles will leave at 2:45pm and 3:45 for the ceremony. These will run throughout the night until 12am. *If you do not want to travel the mountain road, you can catch the shuttle at one of these locations. * I would recommend this because the roads are dark and windy especially at night *if they are full they are full though!
Unfortunately, we have a strict venue capacity and cannot accomadate anyone not addressed on the invite to attend our wedding events.
Wedding Rehearsal will be reserved for wedding party and immediate family. Following a more intimate dinner with the wedding party, we would like to invite everyone to join us for a "BBQ before I DO" Welcome party Friday at 7pm. There is no pressure to come to this, but if you are in town Friday 9/26, we would love to see you stop by for a quick bite, drink, and hangout! Dressy casual attire
We will start promptly at 4:30pm. Please plan to arrive no later than 4:15pm! If you are driving in from Boone, please plan accordingly.
Directions to Sky Retreat coming from the Wilkesboro area: Coming up the mountain on Hwy US-421 N, take the exit ramp onto Hwy US-221 N and continue 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Idlewild road, and continue for 3.5 miles. Turn right onto Phillips Gap Rd and continue 2.1 miles until it intersects with the Blue Ridge Parkway. Turn LEFT on the parkway and go a short distance to the next full gravel road on your right (which is Phillips Gap Rd continuing on the other side of the parkway). Turn right onto this road marked by the green street sign that says Phillips Gap Rd and continue one mile.
