October is a beautiful month in the desert. Florence will typically be warm throughout the day (with an average high of 88 degrees) and comfortably cool at night.
It will be shorts and T-shirt weather. Remember a bathing suit, if you like to go in a pool (at hotel, or at Hope & Jeff's house). And don't forget your wedding clothes too!
Rent a car at the airport! It's a long trip via taxi/uber and there's no guarantee you'll be able to find one to get back to the airport.
YES!
The dress code for the wedding is cocktail attire.
Many guests will be staying at The Green Tree Inn and Suites which provides a free shuttle to the venue. The hotel is about a 6 minute drive from Windmill Winery. Allow yourself extra time, in case you arrive between shuttles. If you are driving yourself you can put Windmill Winery into your GPS. You will enter through Gate 2 (which should be the only gate open at that time).
Yes! If you are driving there will be a parking attendant to direct you to the parking lot area. If you end up drinking a little too much, don't worry- you can leave your car at the Winery and retrieve it in the morning (see below).
Wine will be served starting at 4:30pm for a pre-ceremony drink. Ceremony will begin at 5:00pm.
YES.
Someone will be available (likely Jeff) to shuttle you back to the winery the next morning to retrieve your car. Just let Sydney, Jon, Hope or Jeff know before you leave the party.
Yes, we will be going to a local bar: The Irish Cowboy (3405 N. Main St., in Florence). The shuttle will take all those who want to go (and also be available to take you back to the hotel). It is located 1 mile from both the winery and the Green Tree Hotel. This is a public bar (cash/card required).
This will be at Hope & Jeff's house, for all those staying in town. They live in Glendale, an hour and 45 minutes away (remember, Florence is kind of in the middle of nowhere). After the Sunday morning breakfast in the hotel, check-out is 11AM. At that point, you can head over to Hope & Jeff's (but take your time so they can get there before you do!). If you are staying in town longer, you'll need to move to another hotel (Sydney, Jon, Hope or Jeff can suggest local places, depending on your plans). If you are flying home Sunday evening, you'll still have time to come by the BBQ (it's a 40 minute drive from Hope & Jeff's to the airport). Make sure you RSVP for this, so they know how many people to accommodate.
