Sydney and I met on a blind date at REV coffee shop. Ironically enough, I don't even drink coffee but she does and since we met in the evening, she claims she stayed up all night after that date from all the caffeine. I think she couldn't sleep because she was so excited about meeting me though. We dated for a few months and had a great time together but the timing wasn't right. A few months later on July 4th, I reached back out to her and our story has unfolded from there. We went on our second (first) date as Sydney likes to say and have been together ever since. We are proof of God's perfect timing and to always trust his plan for our lives.
Robbie had been asking me to attend a pep rally at his school for a long time and since I was off of work that day I said yes! We had talked a lot about marriage and what we thought it would look like but rarely about an actual proposal so this came as a total surprise! When I got to Lassiter that morning he acted perfectly normal (and goofy) per usual and I was just happy to be there. I had come to watch a boy band routine he was performing that he had practiced for me earlier that week, but minus our engagement at the end obviously. I will never forget the feeling when a friend of ours pushed me out onto the floor where he was waiting for me. In a gym full of people it quickly began to feel like just the two of us in there when I realized what was happening. Next came the easiest YES in the world followed by a parade of roses and hugs from the special needs class while everyone celebrated. The sweetest part was turning around and seeing both of our families together there to watch it all happen. The emotions I felt that day are hard to describe but something I will cherish forever. How he and our friends and family pulled this off without me knowing I will never know, but I am so grateful! I thank the Lord for putting Robbie in my life and I thank Robbie for choosing me. I cannot wait to start our lives together as one!
