We were in the same class in University of Waterloo for 5 years but really became close in the last year of university. A couple of our classmates (thanks to Dennis Liu) decided to hang out after a long day of back-to-back classes and we got to know each other better. Then a few of us decided to take a grad trip together to South Korea. I planned on staying in Korea for two months, and Max also decided to buy his return ticket the same day as mine. At the time, I was oblivious to the reason why he was staying in Korea for so long. When the group inevitably became just us two, our friendship bloomed into romance. During a never-ending night time adventure with friends, or a night singing karaoke with my mom, it was as if nothing and no-one else existed except the two of us. We knew by the end of the trip everything had changed between us. After the trip, we were able to survive the challenges of long distance relationship for two years, flying from New York to Toronto almost every other weekend. We are now settled in Toronto together, and ready to tie the knot while celebrating the moment with you.
