In Vietnamese and Chinese culture, cash and checks in envelops are given to the bride and groom to bestow good wishes to the couple. Traditionally, these gifts are given in red envelops but can be given in any card or envelop. During the reception, Sydney and Julia will greet each table with their wedding party to clink glasses with everyone and take pictures. This is a fun way for the bride and groom to spend just a little bit of quality time with their guests on a whirlwind day!
For dinner we are having a traditional Vietnamese-Chinese family style meal. It is a seven course meal so be ready to eat! Each meal will be served on one large platter for the entire table to enjoy. The dishes are going to be a variety of meats, but will be heavy on seafood. If you are not an adventurous eater I would recommend that you choose the vegetarian option.
