Question

For out of country travelers, where should we fly into?

Answer

You may fly into Heathrow (LHR) and take the train to Cheltenham Spa (about 2.5 hours from Heathrow). You can also fly from Heathrow to Birmingham (super quick flight) and take a 1 hour train from Birmingham to Cheltenham Spa. Need more help with your travel? Let Laura or Sydney know.

For out of town guests, when should we arrive?

Answer

We recommend arriving by Wednesday May 27th or no later than Thursday May 28th to ensure time to recover from any travel delays. TBD on a gathering Thursday night, but there will surely be a pub gathering Friday to welcome everyone after the rehearsal dinner.

Do I need a visa if I am traveling from the USA?

Answer

As of January 2025, U.S. citizens traveling to the UK for short visits do not need a traditional visa, but must obtain an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before travel. You should apply online at GOV.UK or download the UK ETA app. The ETA costs £10 (approx. $12). ETA Requirement: Required for entry. It is linked to your passport and valid for two years. Application: Apply in advance via the UK government website (https://www.gov.uk/eta/apply) or download the UK ETA app. Passport: Must be valid for the duration of your stay in the UK.

Is there a dress code?

Answer

Semi-Formal...Dressy Casual...even Funky Casual. We love a bit of flair! But make sure it's weather appropriate! Check the weather weeks before so you can made (rain) adjustments if needed.

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

Yes. Since so many will be traveling far and we want as many opportunities to talk and mingle with all of you, we will be organizing some extra events on Thursday and Friday in addition to the wedding on Saturday. On Thursday the 28th we will host a gathering at a pub near Cheltenham. This will be casual, not a formal wedding event, but a chance to spend time together! (Start time TBC) On Friday the 29th of May we will have a rehearsal "lunch". This is attended by the wedding party and parents. (Start time TBC but it will be around 2pm or so) Friday evening we will also have the Welcome Party, another mix and mingle event! More details to come on this. Start time will probably be around 5 or 6 pm.
