The year was 2016 and Sydney and Dillon meet for the first time at the Eastern Michigan University student center. Sydney took it upon herself to do what she does best; dramatically introduce herself! It started with "Hi! You're Dillon right? My name's Sydney and I'm your sorority aunt! What's your favorite color?" To which Dillon cautiously replied "Uh, green." Then loudly Sydney exclaimed "No way! MY favorite color is green!" Sydney gave Dillon her snapchat, and then they did not talk again until February of 2017. Dillon eventually added Sydney back on snapchat, and their love story began. Dillon and Sydney became great friends, hanging out almost every day. Dillon asked Sydney to be his date to DSP's Spring formal at the Applebee's on Carpenter Road, and then they hit up the local Walmart to just hang out and spend more time together. Dillon will say this was their first official date. Sydney will say otherwise. But they will both tell you that they were each other's best friends and just wanted to be around each other as much as possible. Sydney sadly had to return to Illinois for the Summer, but that did not stop them from making time to talk every day, and plan visits to see one another. Sydney visited Dillon in Michigan, and they quickly had two spots that would become their favorites. Pinball Pete's in Ann Arbor and Cedar Point in Sandusky. To this day, they go to Pinball Pete's on date nights. Dillon planned a trip to Illinois to see Sydney as Rizzo in Grease. Then two weeks later, on August 27th, Dillon sent Sydney on the craziest scavenger hunt all around Ypsilanti that ended with him asking her to be his girlfriend. Spoiler alert...she said "Yes!" Over the next seven years, Dillon and Sydney would become closer and closer. They would move in together and eventually adopt the bestest girl in the whole wide world, Winnie! Then on the afternoon of August 5th, 2024, Dillon would surprise Sydney with a trip to Petoskey where he would ask her to marry him. As easy as it was to say "Yes!" seven years before that, this "Yes!" was even easier for Sydney. Dillon was by far Sydney's best friend in the whole world, and she couldn't imagine spending the rest of her life with anyone else, and Dillon felt the same exact way.
