Travel Note
Downtown - If you like the downtown vibe, that is definitely a good option. As with most downtown cities, you will likely need to pay for parking. Uptown - Located just north of downtown, this is a lively mostly walkable area with numerous restaurants, bars, and retail. There aren’t a lot of hotels in Uptown, but there are likely many short term rentals. Northpark/SMU - This would be a great location to stay. It is very centrally located and offers a great amount of shopping and restaurants, while having very easy access to The Arboretum. North Dallas/Plano/Frisco/Addison/McKinney - While these areas are not as close to the wedding location, they are great suburbs that offer just about anything you would need and countless hotel options. Locations east or south of the Arboretum (Fair Park/South Dallas/Old East Dallas) - We would not recommend staying in these areas. While there might be some okay places, the general area is not considered nice or safe. The family will be staying at The Drey Hotel in the Village. The bridal suite and groom suite will also be located at The Drey. We highly recommend this boutique hotel, but it is not the most economical. It is very close to the wedding location and has so much to offer on property. It offers free garage parking but does charge a resort fee that pays for use of the many amenities. The property offers a resort style pool, multiple restaurants, a sports bar, salons, a fitness center, pickleball courts, sand volleyball, indoor basketball courts, putting greens, doggie day-care, etc. The rooms are gorgeous and the hotel is very clean. *** Note that the hotel has not opened up their hotel rooms for reservations yet. The only room type open to reserve right now are their condo-style lofts which are much more expensive than the rooms will be (so you will only see the loft price right now).
Flight
There are two Dallas airports - Dallas Love Field (DAL) and Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (DFW). Dallas Love Field is a Southwest Airlines hub, so all flights there will be Southwest with the exception of a few Delta flights. The rest of the airlines only fly through DFW. Dallas Love Field is closer to the venue, but DFW isn’t too much further.
