Lyons
Lyons is full of great hiking trails and outdoor activities. For finding trails around Lyons we recommend using All Trails. Lyons is also a cute little artsy town with fun shops and restaurants.
Estes Park
Estes Park is only about 30 minute drive from Lyons and has a host of fun activities; hiking, fishing, kayaking, Rocky Mountain National Park, and so much more. If you plan to enter RMNP be sure you have a timed entry permit: https://www.nps.gov/romo/planyourvisit/timed-entry-permit-system.htm
Boulder County
Boulder has fantastic hiking opportunities—be sure to check out the Flatirons or explore the scenic Boulder Canyon Trail right along the river! The downtown area is also adorable, offering plenty of shops and restaurants to enjoy. A bit further behind Boulder is Nederland, where you'll find a lovely lake hike right in town, along with many other fun hiking options and a cute brewery to check out.
Horsetooth Reservoir
This lake is right outside of Fort Collins. We spend a lot of days on the lake during the summer paddle boarding and kayaking with the dogs!
Old Town
We spend a LOT of time in downtown Fort Collins, there are lots of restaurants, bars, and entertainment!
Poudre Canyon
Great fly fishing, hiking, and leaf peeping!
