Sydney and Blake’s story kicked off freshman year at the University of Kentucky, when mutual friends introduced them at a Delta Tau Delta fraternity party after one of the first football games. What started as a fun fall Saturday quickly grew into something more, and soon they were inseparable. They spent all four years of college together and shared it with the circle of friends they made along the way.  After graduation, they navigated two years of long distance, with Blake in Columbus and Sydney in Boston. Eventually, Blake made the move to Boston to be closer to Sydney and her family, landing a new job in the city while Sydney grew her career in marketing. Together, they explored all that New England had to offer… weekend trips to Nantucket, Cape Cod, Block Island, Kennebunkport and everywhere in-between. After countless happy hours over oysters (a dozen… or two), Blake came to love the charm of New England and understood why it means so much to Sydney.  In September of 2024, they decided to head back to Columbus to be closer to college friends and Blake’s family. They moved to German Village where they love their post dinner walks, trying new restaurants, playing tennis, and getting Sydney out on the golf course. In February of 2025, Blake surprised Sydney with what she thought was a weekend trip to see a UK basketball game. But instead of heading to the arena, he led her to Memorial Hall—where, surrounded by family and friends ready to celebrate, he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him.  They can’t wait to celebrate with you all over Labor Day Weekend in Rhode Island, a place special to both of them.
