Question

What is the schedule of events for the day?

Answer

Wedding guests receive free admission to the botanical gardens the day of the wedding, and are invited to explore the grounds prior to the ceremony. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:30. Cocktail hour will follow, and seating for dinner will begin after sunset, shortly after 6:45.

Question

Can I bring my kids or a plus one?

Answer

Due to the limited space of our venue, our guest list has been carefully crafted. Only individuals who are listed on the invitation are invited to attend the event. The wedding and reception will be adults only. We understand that means that some guests may be unable to attend. If that is the case for you, please let us know when you complete your RSVP, and we would love to try to meet up to celebrate with you on a different occasion! Please contact Andrew or Sydney directly with questions about children under 1 year.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We invite our guests to wear their favorite formal attire, and join us in getting dolled up for the special occasion! For our evening wedding, a dark suit or jacket and dress pants is recommended. A long, midi, tea length, or knee length dress would also be appropriate. Formal rompers, jumpsuits, and pant suits are welcome. Previously worn bridesmaids dresses are welcome if you’ve been waiting for the opportunity to re-wear it again! Stiletto style shoes are not recommended, as the ceremony will be on grass outdoors, and there is gravel in parts of the property of the Botanical Gardens. Styles to avoid: sneakers, work boots, jeans/denim, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and outfits that are white, ivory, and light champagne.

Question

Is the ceremony or reception going to be outside?

Answer

Ideally the ceremony will be outside just before sunset on a grassy lawn. If the weather doesn't cooperate, we will do our best to notify guests in a timely manner that the wedding ceremony may need to be moved indoors to the Conservatory, where seating and guest space is more limited. The reception will be indoors no matter what the weather is like. There will be access to a covered patio in the reception space. Please note: No smoking is allowed anywhere on the grounds of the Botanical Gardens.

Question

Where do I park?

Answer

The Botanical Garden has a free parking lot in front of the building. We are also looking into getting a shuttle service to/from the hotel blocks in the nearby East Village neighborhood. Cars can be left overnight in the Botanical Garden parking lot. Cars must be removed by 10am Sunday morning. Shuttle service may be available via hotels in the area. Uber and Lyft are also available.

Question

What do I do if I have dietary restrictions?

Answer

Please call, text, or email (ASKendell22@gmail.com) Andrew or Sydney to let them know at your earliest convenience. We want to do our best to ensure you have an appropriate meal provided.
