Take a stroll through Downtown Washington and stop by the local Farmers Market, open Saturday from 8am-1pm!
Enjoy some weekend activity with a walk, run, or bike along the gorgeous Riverfront Trail located in Downtown Washington.
One of Washington's oldest establishments, Wimpy's has got to be the best greasy spoon around. We often try to plan our visits to Washington around their operating hours. They're closed Sunday's, but if you're in town for lunch Saturday, we would highly recommend grabbing a burger at the counter.
A great bar with great food right across from the railroad with an awesome view of the river. Head here for outdoor seating on a nice day to enjoy their St. Louis-style pizza, toasted ravioli, and maybe even some live music!
Sarah's favorite food is sandwiches, making Big Boys one of her favorite Washington eateries. So much so that they'll be catering the welcome party. Oh, and did we mention the escape room in the basement?
The aforementioned escape room run by the sandwich moguls of Big Boys. We have not tried it yet, but will someone please let us know how it is?!
Olivino is an olive oil and balsamic shop downtown. They also serve delicious balsamic-infused cocktails and mocktails made with in-house ingredients from their bar at the back of the store.
A classic diner downtown with great breakfast options. Home of the mile-high-pie, and especially good for crowds!
Another great breakfast spot!
The gallery of a local artist.
Sarah's favorite antique store in town!
Home of Ted's all-time favorite soft serve. They also have great burgers and fries. All part of a balanced meal.
This downtown spot is a bit more upscale if, for whatever reason, you're not in the mood for burgers.
Along with fresh produce and seasonal specialties, this spot is great for finding local and artisanal treats.
Ted would like everyone to know that libraries are free. Nonetheless, check out the local bookstore. It's very cute.
This winery is close to our venue and has a beautiful hilltop view of the countryside.
We aren't golfers ourselves, but we've heard this nearby course may have some potential for anyone looking to hit the links.
The arcade in town is our nephew's favorite place to play. For any parents looking for things to do with their kids, this is your spot. Adults are encouraged to visit as well - the Darts are free (and in case you were wondering, Ted is the darts champion).
The Katy Trail is the country's longest continuous recreational rail trail, and it runs right through Marthasville. It's a popular trail for runners and cyclists. If you are interested in cycling, Revolution Cycles is a bike rental service based in Washington.
