Things To Do

PLEASE RESPECT THE 'AINA For some of our friends and family this will be the vacation of a lifetime, but please remember you’re visiting a state that’s home to over a million people and varieties of one-of-a-kind plants and animal species. Not only that, Hawaii has a distinct history and culture that is very important to locals. By taking the time to act respectfully, you’re embracing the aloha spirit and helping to make the islands an even better place. Don't litter or take parts of the island, like rocks back home with you. Support locally owned businesses, use reef-safe sunscreen, and don't touch any animals, especially the turtles. Thank you for doing your part to malama i ka 'aina!

Waimanalo Beach

Waimanalo Beach, HI

This is where Marshall proposed to Kasey! Also a family favorite beach for the Schroeders- where Marshall's dad, Stu, taught Marsh and Dillon (his brother) to swim and surf.

Lanikai Beach

Kailua, HI 96734

Rated as one of the top beaches in the world, and one of Marshall's favorites.

Hanauma Bay

Honolulu, HI 96825

This is the first place Kasey went snorkeling (it was also right after Marshall proposed). Probably one of Kasey's favorite places in Oahu. You do have to pay and book in advance to get in, be advised!

Makapu‘u Point Lighthouse Trail

Makapuʻu Point Lighthouse Trail, Waimanalo, HI 96795

This was one of the first hikes Kasey and Marshall ever took together in Hawaii! Marshall likes it because it's beautiful and has free parking. Kasey likes it because it's not a hard hike and it's easy on the joints.

North Shore

Waialua, HI

Marshall's recommendation's: Giovanni Shrimp Truck, Haleiwa Town and hiking Waimea Falls.

Pearl Harbor National Memorial

1 Arizona Memorial Place, Honolulu, HI 96818

An incredibly historic and important sight. We recommend that you get there early and be prepared for a lot of walking.

Hoʻomaluhia Botanical Garden

45-680 Luluku Road, Kaneohe, HI 96744

A beautiful place to get away from the crowds! Gorgeous trails, a lake, and numerous gardens are just some of the things you can see while exploring.

Polynesian Cultural Center

55-370 Kamehameha Highway, Laie, HI 96762

This is known as one the most authentic representations of Pacific Islander culture on Oahu. While it may feel tourist-y at times, the people who run the center work to make it as authentic as possible. Shuttles and a luau are offered.

Rainbow Drive-In

3308 Kanaina Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96815

A classic local and tourist destination, beloved by both Marshall and Kasey. Anything with their gravy is recommended!

Zippy's Koko Marina

7192 Kalanianaʻole Highway, Honolulu, HI 96825

Any Zippys you can get is incredible. Nothing beats a Zip-Pac and some POG!

Matsumoto Shave Ice

66-111 Kamehameha Highway, Haleiwa, HI 96712

This is Marshall's favorite shave ice, and the place he took Kasey for their first shave ice. Marsh says you must get condensed milk on top.

Morning Catch

145 North King Street, Honolulu, HI 96817

According to Marshall, this is the best poke in the island. A definite must visit!

Roy's Waikiki

226 Lewers Street, Honolulu, HI 96815

A Schroeder family favorite. Kasey's favorite is the mai-tai and the dragon roll, while Marshall loves the Hawaiian or lychee martini with the kampachi crudo.
