Maid of Honor
Kati is Kelsi’s older sister and Maid of Honor. She’s helped guide the bride through growing up, including bravely being the one to ‘get in trouble’ so her younger siblings could learn from her mistakes. Kelsi looked up to her sister so much, she followed her to Vanderbilt for college, without which, she would have never met Anthony. Without Kati’s fun and ambitious college choices, this wedding would’ve never existed!
Best Man
Alex Parr is Anthony’s Best Man. They met first at Vanderbilt but their friendship really started when Anthony moved in with Parr years after graduating, where they shared a mutual love for dancing to Ke$ha, playing A LOT of Catan, and always saying “Yes!” to an adventure. Alex played a pivotal role in Kelsi and Anthony’s relationship when he asked Kelsi to take a photo with him in an attempt to have Anthony come visit them in Atlanta. That visit was the beginning of Anthony and Kelsi’s relationship.
Bridesmaid
Christina and Kelsi have been friends since they were 14 years old. Not only did they grow up together, they learned to ‘Adult’ together, when, at 17, Christina’s parents bravely allowed them to live alone in their summer cottage on Cape Cod. Those summers were some of the best days of Kelsi’s life and Christina remains one of her closest and most trusted friends.
Groomsman
Hunter is Anthony’s friend from their hometown Fort Smith. They met each other in middle school but would become really close when they hung out every summer during their college years and drank really terribly flavored vodka. Eventually, Hunter would end up helping Anthony get started in the car wash industry. He recommended Anthony for a position that he had no relevant experience in, but somehow still got him the job. You couldn’t ask for a better friend than Hunter, who wants to see his friends succeed and is always there for you when you need him.
Bridesmaid
Kara is Kelsi’s cousin who she has looked up to her whole life (I mean, until Kelsi surpassed Kara in height). Kara is “the wise one” in the family, and as a Nurse Practictioner, unfortunately and graciously answers all of Kelsi’s very dumb healthcare questions. When Kara’s not doctoring, her and her husband Paul are following her beautiful, hilarious, VERY mobile 1-year old daughter Ava around.
Groomsman
Anthony and Granger met at Vanderbilt and lived together their junior year at the ZBT fraternity house. During college they went on several road trips, getting to meet each other’s families, and enjoy the adventure of trying to navigate icy roads in order to quickly lose money at a casino in Oklahoma. Granger was always making plans that Anthony was happy to join, despite how exhausting it is to walk at Granger’s pace. He is a loving husband, doting father, and the kind of friend who always wants to know what is going on in your life.
Bridesmaid
Kelly and Kelsi met in their freshman college dorm and were fast friends. Kelly is just one of those people everyone enjoys being around – she’s hilarious, kind, supportive, and a great listener. In a weird twist of fate, helping Kelly wedding dress shop was one of the last big adventures Kelsi joined in on before the COVID lockdown! Since that day in late February 2020, Kelly has gotten married to her wonderful husband Teddy, began an evening MBA (in addition to working full-time), and welcomed their sweet baby boy, James. This girl doesn’t quit!
Groomsman
Anthony met Brian while he was frequently visiting Kelsi in Atlanta. Once Anthony moved to Atlanta they became quick friends, which was truly a blessing because it was 2020 and quarantine was much more bearable for Anthony with such a great friend. Brian is an amazing lawyer and Anthony got a super useful degree in philosophy. Their backgrounds both encourage playing the “Devil’s Advocate” role, often leading to conversations going down a hilarious path that few others would entertain.
Bridesmaid
If you had told 18-year old Kelsi that the sweet southern girl with the pearl earrings in her Vandy dorm would soon be a partner in crime for untold hijinx, she wouldn’t have believed you. Jocelyn would prove to be one of Kelsi’s most dangerous friendships of their 20s, but one of her closest, most trusted friends for life. Nowadays, you’ll find Jocelyn preparing her adorable daughter Margot for the tragic day when she will no longer be an only child.
Groomsman
Ron is Anthony’s cousin and their relationship changed a lot over the course of their lives. When given the role of babysitting Anthony and his sister, Ron would often instigate fights between the two for his own amusement (at least that’s how it seemed to young Anthony). After some years had passed Anthony and Ron realized they really enjoyed spending time together, so they were always looking to go off on their own after hanging out with the family. Even though they are much closer now Ron still enjoys riling up Anthony, usually by mocking his shoes and somehow always roping someone in to back him up.
Bridesmaid
It’s hard to believe Bailie and Kelsi weren’t friends at Vandy, but somehow this Engineer and Education school major never met. However, they were immediate friends upon meeting in Atlanta. Since, Bailie has taught Kelsi how to use a hammer and nail successfully, and encouraged Kelsi to buy the condo directly across the hall from her (“Friends” style)…before promptly moving to Seattle. Best of all, she agreed to officiate Kelsi and Anthony’s wedding!!!
Groomsman
Rick is Kelsi’s younger brother, who Anthony has grown close to over his years of dating Kelsi, particularly in 2020, when all the Swenson siblings and Anthony spent time quarantining in Charleston together. Rick is the funny one in the Swenson family, and unfortunately for competitive Anthony, is also the athletic one, despite not caring much for sports. When he’s not apathetically crushing Anthony in tennis, you can find Rick in Brooklyn performing stand-up comedy, writing tv show ideas, and carting his dog Ralph around on the NYC subway system.
Bridesmaid
Susanna is easily and hands-down the funniest person Kelsi has ever met, without even trying to be. When Suse moved from Atlanta to Chicago for law school, it was a hard loss for Kelsi and all of their Atlanta friends. Thankfully, Suse moved back in 2019, and has been able to again grace Atlanta with her wit and charm, and re-introduce us to the hundreds of lesser-known ways to sit on a couch.
Bridesmaid
Kelsi met Alison soon after moving to Atlanta, and knew very quickly that she would become a very close friend. Kelsi has always admired Alison for her ‘chutzpah’. This licensed pilot and expert spear-fisher is the type of friend who, if a restaurant gave her friend the wrong meal, would immediately get them to fix it. After years of hilarious, wonderful memories in Atlanta, Alison sneakily sort-of moved to Charlotte, and married her husband Nick in July 2022. Kelsi is still getting over the move, but she is thrilled for Alison and Nick.
Bridesmaid
When Kelsi found out that a girl she went to high school with in Boston lived a block away from her in Atlanta, she was thrilled to reconnect. However, she had no idea that Ashley would become one of her closest friends in Atlanta, and just a few years later, her roommate….ok and landlord. (Ashley is better with money). Kelsi is lucky to still live less than a mile away from Ashley, allowing her to drag Kelsi to kickboxing or serve her a new spicy tequila concoction any day of the week.
Bridesmaid
Kelsi met Ginny in the first week of college freshman year. Kelsi immediately loved this warm, welcoming, bubbly person and they became close friends. Ginny moved to Atlanta a year after Kelsi, and they got the opportunity to live together in a narrow, three-story home named ‘the cat house’. Ginny has since married her husband Patrick, had 2 beautiful kids, Edward and Helen, and moved to Charlotte, but she is still an amazing, loyal, wonderful friend.
Bridesmaid
Campbell was Kelsi’s first friend when they both started an Evening MBA program, and arguably the fasted friendship she has ever made. They bonded over their weird humor, their non-Atlanta roots, and their completely insane decision to get a Masters while working full-time jobs. Campbell and Kelsi have supported each other through long nights at school and the COVID lockdown crazies, and come out even stronger on the other side.
