One of the greatest events of the year, the Minnesota State Fair will be happening over Labor Day weekend so if you have the time to check it out, we highly recommend it!
51-Mile urban pedestrian loop gives people a best-of-tour of the city, including the Chain of lakes, Mississippi River, Minnehaha Falls, downtown riverfront, Northeast district, Victory Memorial, and Theodore Wirth. Our personal favorite portions to visit are the Minnehaha Falls and the bars and restaurants of Northeast Minneapolis!
Home of the best Jucy Lucy in the country (according to Jordan). For those that don't know, a Jucy (or Juicy) Lucy is a stuffed cheeseburger with the cheese inside of the meat instead of on top. The Jucy Luicy was invented in Minneapolis in the 1950s and is a popular item for locals. 5-8 has a rivalry with many different restaurants in the Twin Cities (i.e. Matt's Bar, Blue Door Pub, The Nook, Peppers and Fries, Francis, etc.) -- all claiming they have the best "Luicy". Try them all and let us know your favorite!
Check out the biggest mall in America and maybe even ride a rollercoaster while you are there!
Also known as the Warehouse District, the North Loop is a trendy area with lots of shopping, restaurants, and bars. Much of the area is converted warehouses from the late 19th and early 20th centuries; which lends the area its nickname.
There are lots of beautiful outdoor parks, trails, and activities in Lakeville and the surrounding area! Among them are Ritter Farm Park in Lakeville or Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve in nearby Savage, MN. If you are up for a round of golf, visit one of the best public courses in the state of Minnesota -- Legends Golf Club in nearby Prior Lake!
