One day, Haley, living in her college apartment (and hopelessly lost when it comes to being handy) had to call management to fix her broken cupboard (which her roommate had attempted to fix with a piece of gum). Ryan was working for the same apartment complex, while attending GVSU. Ryan answered the ticket and Haley answered the door (and had to apologize for the sticky gum holding their cabinet handle together.. to which he kindly removed with very minimal judgement. Over the next few months, Haley broke a few more things (not on purpose, she swears) and the rest was history. For their first date, Ryan asked Haley to go to Ludington for a beach day. Little did Ryan know, Ludington beach was a very special place for Haley. She has many memories of visiting that same beach with her grandpa. They would sit on the bench near the water and watch the waves roll in. They hiked to Big Sable Lighthouse and climbed to the top where they took their first photo together. Over the next several years, they bonded over hiking, spending time with family, and taking road trips while jamming out to Jim Croce. On October 1st, Ryan planned for both their families to go to Ludington together for a weekend. Before dinner, they all took a trip out to Ludington beach to watch the sunset. Ryan asked Haley if she wanted to walk down to the water. Next thing she knew, he was down on one knee asking her to marry him. They are beyond excited to celebrate with you on March 11th (almost exactly 5 years from the day they met!!).
