FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

As we’ve chosen a destination wedding and many of our guests will be travelling from overseas, we would be extremely grateful if you could let us know if you're planning to come by 1 April 2026 so we can plan accordingly. You can always update your response closer to the date if you can not make it (latest date to RSVP 1 October 2026).

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

Please arrive at 2.30pm for a 3.00pm start

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

We request everyone dress in Traditional Black Tie (ie, Tuxedo & Bow Tie / Evening Gown)

Question

Are children invited?

Answer

To help us create the best possible experience for everyone, invitations have been extended to children who are travelling internationally and our immediate family. If these arrangements make things a little tricky for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out. We’ll figure something out together. For the children who are travelling internationally and our immediate family, we will have a professional child minder on hand during the evening, so the little ones can enjoy their own kind of fun while the grown-ups hit the dance floor. More details to come.

Question

Do you have any hotel recommendations?

Answer

Answer

There is ample parking available at the venue. We are also planning to organise a bus from the CBD.

Question

Is there transportation to and from the hotels to the ceremony?

Answer

We are planning to organise a shuttle bus to and from the CBD. We may explore adding a stop or two, depending on where a majority of guests elect to stay. More information on this soon.

Question

What is the weather like in Adelaide in November?

Answer

November weather is quite mild and can reach up to 25 degrees or higher, but evenings will still be cool. Although Adelaide cannot compete with Ireland on this front, rain could make a guest appearance (albeit less likely!). Our Reception will be inside, however we would suggest you bring a jacket to keep you comfortable.

Question

Is there a Wishing Well?

Answer

Your presence at our wedding is truly the greatest gift, and we deeply appreciate that so many of you are travelling from near and far to celebrate with us. Please know that we do not expect any gifts or contributions, having you there means the world to us. For those who would like to leave a note or well wishes, a wishing well will be available at the reception.

Question

Why is the finishing time so early?

Answer

Some of our Irish guests might notice that this wedding is due to finish up at a very civilised time. This is actually the norm in this part of Australia and, as such, wedding venues don't stay open any later. Don't worry, we will more than make up for it with our day 2 party where there will be the option to keep the night going into the early hours!

Question

Any tips for those flying from Ireland?

Answer

Flying from Ireland to Adelaide is a proper long-haul journey. Expect around 21–27 hours total travel time, depending on your route and layovers. There are no direct flights, so choosing the right connection can make a big difference to comfort. CHOOSING YOUR ROUTE AND AIRLINE The most efficient options from Dublin (DUB) are: Via Dubai (DXB) – Emirates Often the fastest overall journey (around 21 hours). Dubai Airport is large, modern and well set up for long layovers. Via Doha (DOH) – Qatar Airways Frequently one of the best-priced options. Doha’s airport is easy to navigate and consistently ranked among the world’s best. Via Perth – Qantas Fly Dublin to London, then take the direct London–Perth flight (approx. 17 hours), followed by a short domestic flight to Adelaide. Ideal if you prefer to get the longest leg done in one go. TRAVEL STRATEGY: SPRINT OR STOPOVER The Sprint: A 2–4 hour layover gets you there fastest, but expect to arrive tired. The Stopover: Many travellers choose a 24–48 hour stop in places like Singapore, Dubai or Bangkok to break up the journey and help adjust to Adelaide’s +9.5 hour time difference. ESSENTIAL PAPERWORK Visa: Irish passport holders need a visa before travel. Most visitors use the eVisitor (651) or ETA (601). Apply online and allow at least two weeks. HEALTHCARE Ireland and Australia have a reciprocal healthcare agreement. Bring your Irish passport and EHIC card (if you have one) to access Medicare for emergencies. LONG-HAUL TIPS Drink plenty of water and limit alcohol Wear compression socks Try to stay awake until local bedtime on arrival to beat jet lag ARRIVING IN ADELAIDE Australia has strict biosecurity laws — do not bring fresh food, fruit or meat. Adelaide Airport is close to the city (15–20 minutes), with taxis and Ubers readily available.
