Two World Travelers that got Lucky

It started out with a DM (Direct Message) and ended in marriage

Although we'd been right next to each other throughout college, our paths never crossed. It seems impossible in retrospect. We hung out with the same people and went to the same parties but never really met. Fast forward 10 years later to 2018 and Keith was getting ready to travel to southeast Asia for an extended period of time. When he learned that Suzie was teaching in Thailand, he "slid into her DMs" looking for travel advice and the two instantly connected. Keith planned to meet Suzie in Thailand as one of the stops on his Asian adventure but fate got in the way, his trip got delayed, and they had a missed connection in Bangkok by 10 days. Both had kept in touch and eventually decided to plan to travel through Indonesia together later that year in September 2019. Once again, the universe kept them apart. Suzie cancelled on the trip last minute after a job she had arranged for the road fell through and quickly took a new teaching job back in the Northern Virginia area that wouldn't allow her to pack up her backpack and travel. Despite not being able to see each other in person, the two continued to talk about travel unaware that this would lead to a stronger connection. Fate was finally on their side when Keith decided to visit DC after returning from his travels right in time for the 2019 World Series featuring the one and only Washington Nationals. Keith invited Suzie to watch Game 1 of the World Series in Arlington over a few beers and some guarantees of Asian travel stories. Both went into the night thinking it was a "just friends" situation but once they saw each other in person they both felt the connection and knew it was something special. The Nationals won Game 1 and both Keith and Suzie left that night knowing that there could be something there, but not just as friends. Each Nationals win (and loss) brought them closer and after spending all of December together, both became smitten. You could say the rest is history.
